Leading the Way in Women’s Employment and Leadership

Warrumbungle Shire Council is proud to stand at the forefront of gender diversity, with women playing a crucial role across its workforce and in leadership positions.

Currently, women make up 63 out of the Council’s 178 permanent and temporary staff, highlighting a strong commitment to providing meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for women within the local community. This representation is further underscored in the senior leadership team, where three-quarters of the current members are women. Additionally, six out of the Council’s 11 managers are women, reinforcing Warrumbungle Shire Council’s dedication to fostering inclusive and diverse leadership.

Mayor Kathryn Rindfleish expressed her pride in the Council’s efforts to create a supportive environment for women, ensuring they are represented in all aspects of the workforce.

“We recognise the vital role women play in shaping our community, and we are proud to provide opportunities that support women in leadership and professional growth,” said Cr Rindfleish. “We remain committed to providing equal opportunities for women, encouraging them to thrive, contribute, and lead within our organisation.”

The Council continues its focus on creating an inclusive workplace that supports female talent and leadership. With ongoing initiatives aimed at attracting, retaining, and promoting women, Warrumbungle Shire Council is setting a strong example of gender equity in local government.
