Road and Pedestrian Safety
Warrumbungle Shire Council is committed to reducing road trauma and the number of road crashes, through implementing Road Safety Strategic Plans. According to NSW Centre for Road Safety, from 2019-2023 there were 190 known crashes and 15 casualties within the Warrumbungle Shire.
The Council is a member of the Local Government Road Safety Program, which involves working with Transport for NSW as well as key community road safety stakeholders within the Shire. The Local Government Road Safety Program targets behavioural as well as engineering issues that affect road safety in Local Government areas. The Warrumbungle Shire Council Technical Services Department addresses issues that are impacting the Shire’s travelling Community, through implementing Road Safety Strategic Plans as well as the Local Government Road Safety Program.
