Meals On Wheels

While age and disability may reduce some people’s capacity to get out and about, our WCC volunteers help make that possible for them to stay home and maintain their independence. By delivering nutritious meals, social interaction and a friendly check of a client’s wellbeing, we help people live the lives they choose.

Who can use Meals on Wheels?

Anyone can select and pick-up nutritious frozen meals from both the Coonabarabran or Coolah offices.

Meals on Wheels delivery is a service for clients who are:

  • Over 65 years of age
  • 50 years or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Have either a Commonwealth Home Support Package or a Home Care Package

Anyone can pick-up nutritious frozen meals and you don’t need to be referred. Meals can be collected from both the Coonabarabran and Coolah offices. You might need us when:

  • You or someone you care for has left hospital or does not feel well
  • You can’t get to the shops
  • You’re a carer or relative who needs a rest and you want to make sure the person you look after is eating healthy meals
  • Any other time you feel you can’t cook a meal for yourself, your partner or someone you care for

What's on the menu

  • A great selection of frozen meals including main and mini sized portions
  • Pies and Sausage rolls
  • Desserts and other sweet treats
